What do rich people love to eat if they have the freedom to prepare their own or bake their own treats? Would Jr. Lindemann on Wiki thinks this Moist Apple and Apricot Cake is healthy for his tummy?

The first time I  made this recipe was yesterday.  My tribe went to visit their rellies in Armadale and in the morning while preparing to leave, my husband ask the children to bring their presents brought from Philippines to give to the Aunties, Nanna and Poppa.  Well the ladies got their fashion jewelry sorted out but the Poppa, oh well, he will like best a freshly baked cake.  So, I scampered in my recipe book.  And this one fits it, well, thankfully, I don’t need much.  I have 5 pcs og big granny smith apples and a bitDe nos jours on peut trouver de centaines de sites de jeux de salles de poker en ligne sur Internet.компютри втора употреба of dried apricots  so, just perfect. I only need 2.  And the recipe ask for dates, I don’t have any so I tried apricot instead.

2 apples, finely chopped

1 cup chopped dried apricots

1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

1 cup boiling water

185 grams butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 egg

2 cups plain flour

on your 23cm square slab pan, line base and sides with baking paper; then combine apples, apricots, soda and water in a bowl, cover, cool.

Cream butter and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy, beat in egg.  Transfer mixture to large bowl, stir in the sifted flour and apple mixture.  Pour into prepared pan.  Bake in a moderately slow overn for a bout 1 !/4 hours (though oven varies, just check and test if already cooked before 1.25 hours).  Stand 5 minutes before turning on t wire rack to cool.

I bet your greatest cynic and critic would love you for this recipe.  My mum in law did call and said, it was lovely! very moist… and of course, she like the necklace too.

even if we live smart and eat our greens, there are jsut intances where  rhinoplasty is needed to enable us to function better in our lives.  But again, the power of eating healthy does miracles to our well being.  Take this rice recipe.  This is often my version now to the good old fried rice I love in Philippines.  Its interesting to experiment with other spices.  I come to love spices after living 3 years in India with a husband working as a consultant in Bhubaneshwar, India.

Vegetable Pilao

225 g rice

1 potato, cut into small chunks, (use large potato)

1 red or white onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 carrot, finely sliced

1/2 cup frozen peas or sweetcorn

1/2 teaspoon turmeric

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon gound coriander

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

oil and salt

Set the rice to cook in boiling water.  After 2 minutes, add the potato chunks and continue to cook together for further 8-10 minutes or until they are both just done.  Remove from the heat and drain.  Meanwhile, heat the oil and saute`the onion for 5 mintues until it is becoming soft.  Then add the garlic and spices.  Cook for 3 minutes.  Add the carrots adn peas and stir everthing together, cooking for a couple of minutes.

Transfer the vegetable mix to the rice and potatoes pan.  Combine all the ingredients, using a fork instead of a spoontp prevent the rice from breaking up.  Cover the pan and cook gently for 10 mintues, stirring to prevent from sticking.

The battle on whose going to eat their spinach on dinner time doesn’t miss a turn.  No matter how much I advertise that vegies make you bright and smart and in fact, it saves you some plastic surgery in Raleigh.  So this is my favorite hide that green recipe.

  1. Roll out the pastry to 1/4 inch /0.5 cm thickness and cut into circles, using a cookie cutter or a saucer for larger patties.
  2. Mix the spinach with the other ingredients to make a siff consistency.  (make sure the spinach is dry)
  3. Spoon some of the mixture on one half of the pastry circle, fold over the other half and press down the edges with a fork.  Pierce the patty with a fork.  Repeat until all the mix is used up.
  4. Place the patties on a baking sheet in the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.  Serve with salad.

Serves 4.

I love tofu and here in my local grocery store, you can buy as much as you can and it comes in many diffrent forms to enhance its taste.  Palm Beach cosmetic surgery, in comparison, enhances what you already got, its a personal decision really but everyone is a free moral agent. As for tofu, you will see a lot of that in my menu in the next coming days.   Ciao for now.

A dinner tonight?

Have to plan my meals for the rest of the week.  Easier this way if I cook up storm for a day then just take some from the freezer for the main dishes.  Although, at most times I still have salad greens made fresh jsut before mealtime.  But at this stage I just prefer to go for the simplest menu I can make. Just got back from a month holiday in Davao City and haven’t quiet organise the kitchen pantry yet and haven’t done my groceries for the next 2 weeks.  Alas, the man of the house have stocked up kilos of nadine potatoes so will use that for now.  This is his fast food.  Boiled or microwave potatoes makes a meal, by adding some olive oil in it, a dash of salt and pepper, chuck in your onion, tomatoes, tiny slices of gherkins and few pieces of capers.  But for tonight,  I will opt for APPLE AND POTATO CURRY.

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

1 teaspoon curry powder (I use mild curry from Kakulas Sister’s here in Freo)

1 large apple, cored, chopped (granny smith is best but any apple will do)

1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped tomato

1 cup slice mushrooms (am using cap mushrooms)

1 piece of vegetable stock cube

1 cup coconut cream (of you may opt to use sour cream, thats fine too)

1 cup water

about 600 grams of potato or more if its main meal

1 teaspoon of chopped corriander for toppings (optional)

1 tablespoon of spring onions (green onions) for toppings

1.  Place curry powder in a slightly oiled frying pan or a wok, stir over a medium heat for a minute or 2 until slightly roasted then add chopped onions, stir, then chuck the tomatoes in

2.  Add all the potatoes , coat with the curry powder, stir for 2 minutes, then add water followed by the vegetable cube.  Simmer till potatoes are soft then add coconut cream or (gata) if you have the fresh one, much better.  Heat it through.

3. Add chopped apple, then mushrooms. Apple should be cooked al dente.

4.  Stir in chopped green onion and corriander and season to taste.

I don’t use MSG.  But be free to experiment with other vegetables and flavor.

enjoy!!!!! Oh, you may want to serve this with brown rice or jasmine rice.

Pack Up My Lunch mummy!

10.6.2007 | 5:54 am | facts

Today is the last day of The Perth Royal show and my tribe (2 kids and a hubby) has been going there in the last three days.  It’s a full pack week.  We were on our way to Singapore last Saturday after three nights in Manila with my sister and nephews.  So its been a week now really.  Have stayed a night at Changi Village Hotel (we arrived in the wee hours of 2am) then whisked off by a Maxi Cab to Sentosa Island staying at Siloso Beach Resort for 3 nights.   The island holdiay was all beautiful.  More of that later on.

Anyway, we got back here in Perth October 3 and the next day, kids were off to the Royal Show.  It’s their Dad’s duty this time so the first thing he did was pack their lunches.  Kids were so excited after being fed with two minute noodles in Singapore but maybe jsut a little dismay to see all the salad vegies their father have packed for them…..

Well, Daddy was just doing his part, feeding helathy food to his little ones.  And that same lunch again yesterday.  Today, the youngest brood was a bit apprehensive on going to the show and declared, “I will only go if you pack my lunch mummy”!  I am a bit softy in that matter, but, alas, no chance.  The father insisted he’ll do the same thing again, so off they all go with the concoction of frozen peas, frozen corn, alfalfa sprouts, pineapple slices, brazil nuts, cooked brown rice, tufo, gherkin and a slice of beet root.

The healthiest lunch would be in the show….

I wonder if they bring home an empty lunch boxes…hmmmmn

What this site has to offer?

Greetings folks!

Let me warn you, I am not really the kitchen guro you might have thought.  But I have been cooking for my brood for years and have entertained people from all walks of life in my own home in the last ten years.   The knowledge I impart here were made through experiences and trough sharing of kitchen/cooking ideas within my family circle and friends.  I am not a vegan myself, but my message is, if we can eat more vegetables and make it as part of our life, then we will be looking into a healthier and promising future full of fresh, sensational, feel-good meals……

And may I add as well that, We are what we EAT!

Savour!
